Sunday dinners are usually big meals for us. We typically eat around 12:30 and that’s our big meal for the day. Since I started using my Instant Pot, I don’t have to wake up early to get our dinner started before we go to church. Today, I made tenderized steaks (we get them local but you could use cube steaks).
Ingredients you will need are:
1-2 lbs of Steak (tenderized or cubed)
1 10 oz can of French Onion soup
1 can of water
1 package of Au Jus Gravy Mix.
1 T of A1 steak sauce (optional)
2 T cornstarch
This is so simple, I think my husband could even do it!
Pour the French Onion Soup, 1 can of water and the package of Au Jus Gravy Mix into the Inner Pot, mix to stir the gravy mix into the soup.
I seasoned my steaks with salt, pepper and steak seasoning.
Put the steaks in with the soup ingredients, I didn’t even brown them!
Close the lid and seal. Set Manual Pressure to 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, do a Natural Release for 10 minutes, then do a Quick Release.
Remove steak. If you want your gravy to be thicker, make a slurry of 2 T of Cornstarch and 2 T of cold water. Turn Instant Pot to Saute, pour in the slurry and whisk until thick.
While steak was cooking, I grated the cabbage for the cole slaw and made the dressing. We like to use the Instant Idaho Red Potatoes, I heat 2 cups of water to boiling in the microwave then poured over the instant potatoes and stir with a fork until fully incorporated and fluffy. Serve with your favorite vegetable.
