Patriotic Primitive Bowl Fillers

Sorry I haven’t been posting much lately. I’ve had a busy few weeks. We needed to have all the sewer lines replaced in our basement due to failure of pressure testing done by our Boro. Out of 600 homes, only 170 passed. Our home was built around 1959, so it had all terra cotta pipe. ugh
They had to dig up the lines in the basement, in the garage, and out our paved driveway to connect to the main sewer lines! What a mess. Then we had to repaint the entire basement floor and, while the stuff was out of the garage, we painted the cinderblock walls. We also stained our deck railing with with a semi-solid stain! Needless to say, this ole gal is tired of painting!

This is the 3rd time our driveway has been dug up. Twice by the Boro when they connected our house using the wrong line and had to come back and find the right line and connect it. We just had it sealed last year too and it’s going to need that again!

So now that all that work is done, I was able to spend some time in the craft room today!
I recently found a lady on Facebook her page is called The Crafty Decorator! She does live videos as she crafts! Why has it taken me this long to find her??? She also has a blog called by the same name thecraftydecorator.com you might want to check out all her free patterns!

I’m just here to show you the Uncle Sam and the firecrackers I made today! I cut out my pieces, stuffed them, coffee stained them and dried them in a 300 degree oven for about 8 minutes…turning them after 5 min on the first side. I used some real wool I had from doing a felted wool project for his hair, eyebrows and beard.

A few weeks ago, I made some liberty bells. I came up with my own pattern, but she also has a pattern on her website that’s much nicer than mine.

I enjoy decorating for the different holidays! I do my Americana for Memorial Day and then add more for Fourth of July. August I will do my BEE theme and then we head into fall so I’ll bring out the CROWS!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you will check out Sherry’s blog and her Facebook page.
