TP Roll Valentine Decoration

Hey friends, how is your day going?  We had a couple days of snow which kept me indoors that also allowed me some time to do a little crafting. With Valentine’s Day only a few weeks away, I have a cute idea for you.  This is by no means my “original” idea, but each one of these little holders you make become “original” to you!

What you need is a some empty TP rolls. You do know what I’m referring to when I say TP? That’s right… Toilet Paper!!! lol
The other day I threw away a bunch, now I wish I hadn’t because to make this one, I had to take the TP off the roll.

You will need some fabric, some glue or a hot glue gun, scissors, twine, wire or ribbon, and any kind of decorations you want to use to embellish the finished holder.

First, cut your material wide enough to wrap around the roll and long enough so you can tuck the ends in to the inside.

I’m using a fabric with little hearts on it, but you can also use twine and wrap it around the entire tube, or burlap, or scrapbook paper, your imagination is the only limit you have!

Once the fabric is cut to size, glue it around the tube, glue the extra on the ends as well so when it’s pushed inside it will stay together.

Then push the excess material to the inside of both ends and glue it down.

On one end, fold it so the ends come together and glue closed.

Cut your twine or ribbon the length you want, mine is about 6 or 7 inches long, and glue to the inside on each side.

I ripped a piece of material in a contrasting color and tied it around the tube, hanging a skeleton key to it.

I bought this package of menorah beeswax candles in a variety of colors at Goodwill for $1.99.

I’m using 2 burgundy and 1 white one, tied them together with a piece of twine. Then inserted a rusting star pick and pip berries.

You can hang it,

Wouldn’t these be cute as Teacher gifts, Sunday School Teacher, or just something special for your friends and neighbors for Valentine’s Day. Fill them with wrapped chocolates!

To prim this up you can grunge it with a mixture of coffee or tea, cinnamon and cloves! Or, some distressing ink!
A tea light also fits nicely in one of these!

If you make one of these, will you come back and post a photo??? I’d love to see the ideas you come up with!
